Hello is anyone listening???

I am back from a short hiatus. While I was out of course there were many many times I was reminded of my obligation here… however when you’re in the battle, the funk, the trial, the test one often shuts down. I have been learning that even though we go through life’s troubles — and we are always going to have to through them… it is germane to the human experience, we must still DO what is required of us.

The word of God says this: “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14)

The word press defined: (Encarta Dictionary Tools)

  1. vti push against something: to use a steady and significant force to put weight on something sometimes to make it move or start working
  2. vi try too hard: to make great or greater efforts in order to achieve something, but not necessarily succeed, as an athlete under stress might

As defined by Strong’s Dictionary:

So what happens when we stop pressing – stop pushing – stop trying hard – stop pursuing for the prize? Most times we stop because we are other wise minded — we forget why we were pushing in the first place! THE PRIZE OF THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD (This prize DOESN’T belong to me) & that high calling is always IN CHRIST JESUS. Look at next verse: “Let us therefore, as many as be perfect (mature), be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.” (Philippians 3:15)

We must remember as the authentic believer that we are called according to His purposes and plans and NOT our own and through all that we go through it is for the GLORY of God. There is no need for me to get discouraged if there aren’t many reading what the Lord has given me. If there is only ONE that is impacted then I have done what I was called to do. So once He reveals that we were otherwise minded in whatever shape or form we must REPENT and get back on course and begin PRESSING again!
